Fast-deploying silicone-coated fire blanket
Shield fire blankets are constructed from fire-resistant glass fiber fabric with silicone coating and are primarily designed for extinguishing cooking oil and fat pan fires in kitchens. Each blanket deploys in less than five seconds and provides electrical resistance of at least 1 MΩ to reduce shock risk when used near live electrical equipment. The blanket can also smother fires in electrical appliances, waste bins, candles and clothing, and can be wrapped around a person whose clothing is burning. It complies with the BS EN 1869 standard and is Kitemark approved (certificate KM 681319).
